Here at Martins Floor Covering, we specialize in two main types of manufactured Hardwood! Understanding the difference between the two options takes one less question to ask yourself away.
Engineered wood floors are constructed of three or more thin sheets (called plies) of wood that are laminated together to form a single plank
range from 1/4" - 9/16" thick and 2 1/4" - 7" in width
cross-ply construction isnt affected by changes in moisture or temperature
can be installed practically anywhere
Traditional solid hardwood floors are comprised of a single piece of wood with tongue and groove sides
usually 3/4" thick planks that are 2 1/4" wide
very sensitive to moisture
not recommended for below ground level
